A sixth-generation farmer turned rancher and agricultural consultant, Montana Caise is a devoted student of nature and supporter of land management strategies that prioritize restoration and resilience. With years of civil engineering under his belt, and experience in agricultural contexts ranging from conventional row crop production to groundbreaking regenerative cattle operations, he now uses his combined skill sets to assist producers and landowners in transitioning to better land management practices and improve their overall livelihood. Montana’s goal is to help enable land stewards to thrive through production and conservation models that are economically viable, in alignment with nature, and personally gratifying. He seeks to promote cooperation among producers, organizations, and agencies, and to support the revitalization of rural economies at large. Outside of his efforts at LandWise, Montana can be found working on the farm, participating in local food and music scenes, or roaming around the countryside with his dog.

Kelsey Nelson is a dedicated conservationist, agricultural consultant, and advocate for responsible stewardship practices in land management. With a Master’s degree in Range Science and a Bachelor’s in Wildlife Biology and Conservation, Kelsey brings a unique combination of scientific expertise and hands-on experience to her work. She has worked extensively with producers, landowners, and organizations across the west, building strategies to improve soil health, restore degraded lands, and foster harmony between the bottom line and land management practices. Her practical approach emphasizes sustainable solutions that balance environmental stewardship, economic profitability, and community well-being. Kelsey specializes in rangeland management, direct-to-market beef business development, and agricultural-based grant writing. Her vision is rooted in empowering producers with knowledge, tools, and strategies that minimize bureaucracy and foster collaboration among peers, agencies, and organizations. She thrives on helping others achieve their goals while honoring the natural resources they steward. When not working with producers, Kelsey enjoys riding horses in Montana’s breathtaking wilderness, finding inspiration in the landscapes she strives to protect.
